Saint Birgitta of Sweden is a historical figure. She is venerated in all major Christian religious communities. Through her example, her life's work and the effectiveness that she has achieved after her death to this day, she is significant in many ways.

Die heilige Birgitta von Schweden ist eine historische Persönlichkeit. Sie wird in allen großen christlichen Religionsgemeinschaften verehrt. Durch ihr Beispiel, ihr Lebenswerk und die Wirksamkeit die sie auch nach ihrem Tod bis heute erreicht, ist sie in vielerlei Hinsicht bedeutsam.

Historians and institutes deal with the historical research of the nature and work of the saints. The order she initiated is a separate research area.

Historiker und Institute befassen sich mit der geschichtlichen Erforschung des Wesens und Wirkens der Heiligen. Der von ihr initiierte Orden ist ein eigenes Forschungsgebiet.
